The USB audio driver built into Windows Vista works terrific with the typical USB Sound pods for speech recognition. There is almost never a problem with them.A

A problem that has been occurring recently started with the introduction of the new Andrea USB-SA pod. There's actually nothing wrong with the Andrea USB pod or with the Windows Vista audio driver. The device comes with a little CD Software Diskette. If you install the Pure Audio software from this disc, you are likely to have problems. Uninstalling and getting rid of the software can be problematical.

One thing that seems to help is forcing an update to the built in USB audio driver. This driver, USBAudio.sys has been uploaded to the files section of this sub forum (USB Microphones/Pods).
