If not select this even if it is a handheld microphone. I am able to make a test recording with the microphone as per the post from mmarkoe. But the speech recognition tutorial refuses doesn't work neither does the Train your computer to better understand you. </P><P>The speech recognition audio meter is still completely irresponsive. Maybe I could try a USB mic or something.</P><P>Also my current set up works fine for skype, if this is any help.</P><P>John S</P>]]>

However, when the speech recognition GUI appears on the desktop in listening mode the audio meter doesn't seem to respond at all to my voice.</DIV><DIV>&nbsp;</DIV><DIV>I am using a dynamic mic with a pre-amp plugged in to the mic in on my motherboard.
